Spiritual growth is about
staying close to Jesus

Growing in your faith is not about checking enough boxes, knowing every answer, or earning God’s love. God already loves you. Spiritual growth happens as you consistently make room for Jesus and allow the Holy Spirit to shape your thoughts, choices, and relationships.

Some days will feel significant. Other days will feel ordinary. What matters is continuing to return to Jesus.

Small, consistent steps can produce lasting spiritual growth.

John 15:5
5 I am the vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in me and I in him produces much fruit, because you can do nothing without me.
Galatians 5:25
25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.

Build these rhythms into your life.

You don't need to change everything at once. Begin by establishing three simple rhythms that help you remain connected to Jesus.

Worship with the church

Make gathering with your church family a consistent part of your week. Worship, biblical teaching, prayer, and encouragement from other believers help strengthen your faith.

Spend time in God's Word

The Bible helps you know who God is, understand His heart, and recognize how He is leading you. Start with a small passage and focus on understanding and applying it.

Talk with God everyday

Prayer is an honest conversation with God. Thank Him, bring Him your needs, ask questions, confess what is wrong, and take time to listen.

Start with 15 minutes

A meaningful time with God does not have to be complicated. Put away distractions, open your Bible, and follow this simple rhythm.

1. Pause

(2 Minutes)
Find a quiet place and slow down. Invite the Holy Spirit to help you focus and receive what God wants to show you.

Simple prayer:
“Holy Spirit, help me hear from You and respond to You today.”

2. Read

(7 Minutes)
Read a short passage slowly. You may need to read it more than once.

Ask:

* What does this reveal about God?
* What does it reveal about me?
* Is there something I should believe, change, or do?

3. Reflect

(3 Minutes)
Write down one thought, verse, question, or action. You do not need to fill an entire journal page. Capture what stood out.

4. Pray

(3 Minutes)
Respond honestly to God about what you read. Ask Him to help you live it out during the day.

The goal is not simply to finish a reading. The goal is to know Jesus and respond to Him.

Make Sundays part of your rhythm.

We grow better together

Personal time with God matters, but following Jesus was never meant to be a completely private journey. Make weekly worship a consistent part of your life and allow your church family to encourage you as you grow.

Questions about growing in your faith?

Where should I begin reading the Bible?
The Gospel of John is an excellent place to begin because it focuses on who Jesus is and what it means to believe in Him. Read a short passage at a time rather than rushing through several chapters.
How long should I spend reading and praying?
Start with a realistic amount of time that you can repeat consistently. Fifteen focused minutes is more helpful than creating an ambitious routine that you abandon after several days.
What if I miss a day?
Begin again the next day. Missing a day does not mean you have failed or that God is disappointed with you. Spiritual growth is built through grace-filled consistency, not perfection.
What if I do not understand what I read?
That is normal. Ask God for understanding, write down your questions, compare the passage with other Scripture, and talk with a trusted Christian leader. Focus first on what the passage clearly reveals.
How does the Holy Spirit help me grow?
The Holy Spirit points you toward Jesus, helps you understand and remember God’s truth, convicts you when something needs to change, and empowers you to live differently. Ask Him daily to guide you.
Do I have to feel spiritually motivated every day?
No. Feelings will change. Healthy rhythms help you continue seeking God even when you do not feel especially motivated. Faithfulness often comes before emotion.
Why is attending church important if I can worship at home?
Personal worship is valuable, but the Christian life also includes gathering with other believers. Corporate worship, biblical teaching, prayer, encouragement, and serving one another are important parts of becoming a mature disciple.
